MacCrone honoured to support the TCCL Lodge appeal
(13th May 2015)

John MacCrone is honoured to support TCCL – a charity that raises money to help the families of Tayside, Angus, North East Fife and Perthshire, who are affected by childhood cancer or leukaemia.

The 25-year old driver, who won his home Tour of Mull Rally in 2013, will drive a Ford Fiesta R5 at the McRae Rally Challenge at Knockhill (16-17 May), proudly carrying the TCCL Lodge logo.

TCCL Lodge is a separate charity, run by TCCL, and set up with the purposes of raising £500,000 to open TCCL Lodge, a holiday home for children with cancer, in the north east of Scotland. Over £440,000 has been raised so far, and the charity is working to raise the final funds needed to open TCCL Lodge – a four-bedroom house in the heart of St Andrews, which, once renovations are complete, will be offered to families for exclusive use, one week at a time. More information on this amazing project is available on its website: www.tccl-lodge.org.uk.

John has also launched a fundraising page for TCCL, which made over £100 in the first 24 hours. If you'd like to donate to John's page, visit https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/johnmaccrone1

The TCCL main website is www.tccl.org.uk.

Claire Smith, Vice Chairperson, Tayside Children with Cancer & Leukaemia, said: "We are delighted that John has come on board as a supporter and fundraiser. John's car bonnet will look fantastic adorned with the TCCL Lodge logo at Knockhill at the weekend. We wish him all the best for the upcoming season and with his fundraising efforts.”

John MacCrone said: “It really does feel great to be helping out everyone at TCCL to raise money for the lodge. Rally drivers spend a large amount of their time sourcing money, so it's nice to be doing it not only for myself but this brilliant cause as well. I hope we can raise awareness of TCCL and help them reach the £500,000 target.”
