Steel construction specialist G.S. Robertson Ltd teams up with MacCrone to strengthen rally charge at Knockhill
(12th May 2015)

Scottish steel construction specialist G.S. Robertson has teamed up with rally star John MacCrone to help strengthen the talented 25-year old driver’s rallying charge.

Based in central Angus, G.S. Robertson are experienced specialists in the design, building and installation of steel framed buildings, supplying both the agricultural and industrial sectors.

This is the first time G.S. Robertson has been involved in motorsport sponsorship, and it’s a perfect fit, as MacCrone is a professional joiner by trade. The G.S. Robertson’s logo will appear on MacCrone’s Ford Fiesta R5 at the McRae Rally Challenge at Knockhill (16-17 May) – an event that celebrates the 20th anniversary of Colin McRae winning the FIA World Rally Championship in 1995.

Graeme Robertson, Managing Director of G.S. Robertson, said: “I’ve known John for a number of years, both as a rally driver and through the building industry. I have been lucky enough to sit beside John in a rally car, both on a Tarmac road and through the M-Sport gravel test stage in Greystoke forest. It was a fantastic experience, and I was very impressed with his ability behind the steering wheel. It’s the first time G.S. Robertson has been involved in motorsport sponsorship, and we are greatly looking forward to our first appearance together on the McRae Rally Challenge.”

John MacCrone said: “It's great to have G.S. Robertson on board for Knockhill, as Graeme is a motorsport fan and having had him in the car at a test it will be excellent for him to join us on the day for the rally. G.S. Robertson is a business that has expanded from one man to a big team that provides a first class service, so it’s a sponsor we are proud to be associated with."
