NEWS: Ford Fiesta RS WRC test for FIA Academy Crews
7th December 2012:

Bringing what has been a sensational season in this year’s FIA WRC Academy to a close in style, four competitors – Jose Suárez, Brendan Reeves, Pontus Tidemand and John MacCrone – were selected for one final reward today: a test in the Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

With WRC Academy Cup champion, Elfyn Evans, also victorious in the rookie award, M-Sport saw it only fit to extend the prize. With little to choose between Tidemand and MacCrone over the six-round season, the Cumbrian firm opted to award both drivers a test in the world car. Commending their impressive performances throughout the year, Suárez and Reeves were also invited to attend the test after a closely-fought battle for second place at the final round in Spain.

With each driver enjoying an hour’s test with the Fiesta RS WRC, they were first shown the tricks of the trade by FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) regular, Matthew Wilson, before taking to the wheel themselves. Tackling a 2km stage of broken asphalt and loose gravel, the experience served as a taster before the youngsters look to make the next step in their respective careers.
